More than 100 guests — alumni, station hosts and representatives of U.S. partner universities — attended this years U.S. meeting of RIAS Fellows at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel on September 24 and 25, coinciding with the 2011 RTDNA/SPJ annual convention from September 25 to 28, 2011.

Commission members Dr. Hildegard Boucsein and Dr. Helena Kane Finn welcomed the guests and RIAS Fellows at the reception by the RIAS BERLIN COMMISSION.

At the RIAS breakfast guest speaker Prof. Charles Hermann, The Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M University, gave an analysis of the current global political situation and stressed the undiminished need for transatlantic exchange programs, such as the one provided by the RIAS BERLIN COMMISSION.
